World History I

Setting the Stage
While Greece was on the decline, a new city to the west was developing and increasing power.  Rome grew from a small settlement to a mighty civilization that eventually conquered the Mediterranean world.  Eventually the Romans would build one of the most famous and influential empires in history. 

Activities
1. The Origins of Rome
      a.  Students will look at how the city of Rome            was founded and who were the first                      Romans with four essential questions.  A            class discussion will follow. Questions
           due tomorrow.
      b.  Map of Ancient Rome due Wednesday
           (25 points)
      c.   Ancient Roman Map/Essential Questions
        
Objectives
1.  Identify the origins of ancient Rome

Setting the Stage
America was built by workers and steel.  We begin looking over Chapter 7 and how American urbanization changed the face of a nation.

Activities
1.  America the Story of Us: Cities
          a.  Finish watching the video about
               American urbanization

2.  Chapter 7 Vocabulary: Immigrants and 
                                      Urbanization 
          a.  Students will be responsible for
              finding 21 terms, people, and groups
              that apply to sections 1-3.
